Hello world!

I’m intimidated.

So I’m starting a blog. Where it goes, I don’t know. I’m hoping it will be fun.

This all started because I’m planning a move to Ecuador in September, and intend to use this site to keep track of all the hoops I must jump through before getting there. Passport renewed. Visa. Airline tickets. Getting to know folks in the city of Cuenca via the Internet. That’s the future part.

I also plan to use this site as an archive of the past. As a retired journalist, I have hundreds of articles (mostly arts and entertainment) that I’d like to keep from disappearing into the ether.

I also hope that my readers will ask questions for me to answer. Dialogue is good.

So, here we go ……..

Well, Darling, I can´t wait to come along for the virtual ride! I have to tell you, I generally prefer it when you lie to me, so do take that artistic license wherever you go! I am so excited for your new endevour. So question 1, why Ecuador?

      The quick answer:
      1. Economics. Ecuador is ranked near the top of places for retirees.
      2. Hispanic culture.
      3. Maybe I’m a little crazy.

You should have a section on recent books you’ve read and recommendations! Just a thought.

      Dang, Darren!
As you know, that’s a tall order, and one I’ve been intending to do all along.
OK, I’ll at that to the To Do list.

We’ve been looking at Cuenca as a possible visit or stay for a while site too – next year. International Living raves about it. I just got a different report which is not so glowing on Ecuador – and crime. They loved Panama (as does IL). So, we’ll be watching how things go for you. See you nere in a week! KC

Hey from Ecuador! Thanks for stopping by the blog, and I hope that you enjoy Cuenca. She’s a lovely city and one of my favorite places to visit in the Sierra. Good luck with your blog! Z
